Partnerships
As a Catholic School and a learning community we actively engage in partnerships with a wide range of different organisations and community groups. We value partnerships and collaboration as vital mechanisms to continually enhance the level of service we provide to both pupils and staff at Saint John Wall.
In addition, we strive to share our skills and expertise with others so that we can influence and enable improvements to education across the Birmingham Archdiocese, West Midlands region and beyond.
We have 5 members of staff who are Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs) and Miss Marston, our Headteacher, is a Local Leader in Education (LLE). Our governors are experienced school leaders and practitioners and Mr Quinn, Vice Chair, is a National Leader of Education (NLE).
Here are examples of our involvement in partnerships:

St Patrick and St Edmund's Catholic Primary School We are working closely with St Patrick and St Edmund's, one of our feeder Catholic Primary Schools. As part of the Flourishing MAT framework, all Catholic schools in our region have been asked to increase working in partnership, to enhance the quality of provision whilst also exploring financial savings. Several staff from Saint John Wall are helping with leadership, subject specialist teaching, ICT and finance support for St Patrick and St Edmund's. We are seeing many benefits for both pupils and staff, with shared staff training sessions, collaboration on curriculum development, and sharing reading strategies. |

| Police and Schools Panel Saint John Wall Catholic School is committed to keeping our pupils safe, both in school and the wider community. As part of our safeguarding arrangements, we have a two-way information sharing agreement in place with West Midlands Police. The agreement is compliant with Crime & Disorder Act 1998, Data Protection Act 2018 – 2021 Update and United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK-GDPR); and focuses on preventing young people from becoming involved or further involved in crime and anti-social behaviour, as either a victim or offender. |

Trent and Tame Language Network The Trent and Tame Language Network serves schools in Birmingham, Stoke and Staffordshire. The name derives from the two rivers that cross our geographical area. In the same way that the Trent and Tame rivers merge together, so do the vision and values of Language Teaching and Learning at the two co-lead schools, Arthur Terry School and Painsley Catholic College. The Trent and Tame Language Network are committed to improving the perception and performance of language learning across our region. Through support, training and system leadership, they will promote quality learning of languages, including home, heritage and community languages. Whilst their aims align with those of NCLE, The Trent and Tame Language Network will also support schools in our area to explore and develop their language provision in two core areas. |

Teaching Times: Raising Attainment with Wellbeing The 'Raising Attainment with Wellbeing' award aims to further develop an inclusive learning environment that supports and nurtures the highest possible levels of emotional wellbeing, accelerating progress and securing better personal outcomes. We worked with a coach from Teaching Times to complete a 'needs analysis' and act on areas identified for development. As a school we were able to demonstrate our progress and were awarded 'gold' for our commitment to both pupil and staff wellbeing. Comments from the company director and our coach included: “Incredibly high importance and attention is given to wellbeing at Saint John Wall Catholic School”. “I believe this school is an excellent example of an educational setting being a real champion of wellbeing. They fully deserve a Gold Award”. |
