Safety and Safeguarding
Our Mission Statement is:
'To educate each and every unique child in our care, to hear and respond to what God calls them to be'
Parents/carers and pupils should already be aware that as part of our safeguarding arrangements, the school is committed to keeping our students safe, both in school and the wider community. As part of our safeguarding arrangements, we have a two-way information sharing agreement in place with West Midlands Police. The agreement is compliant with Crime & Disorder Act 1998, Data Protection Act 2018 – 2021 Update and United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK-GDPR); and focuses on preventing young people from becoming involved, or further involved, in crime and anti-social behaviour, as either a victim or offender.
Saint John Wall Catholic School is a member of the NewStart Programme. NewStart is a prevention and early-intervention programme to promote mental health and emotional well-being in our school communities.
Led by Birmingham Education Partnership and funded by the NHS, the NewStart programme aims to build resilience and well-being for young people through a school-based community development model.
